Flyos, in partnership with Kwalee, unveils "Vampire: The Masquerade – Eternal Whispers," a new CRPG drawing inspiration from the acclaimed Disco Elysium. This title delves into an original narrative within the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, integrating elements and characters from the series' rich lore.

Unraveling Ancient Secrets in a Modern Night: A New Chapter in the Vampire Saga

A Fresh Take on the Vampire Universe

Flyos, a studio recognized for its tabletop game "Vampire: The Masquerade — Chapters," is venturing into video games with "Eternal Whispers." This new computer role-playing game promises an original narrative within the beloved vampire world, blending elements from its tabletop predecessor and featuring iconic characters to create a unique experience.

Inspired by Narrative-Driven RPGs

The game proudly displays its "Disco Elysium" influence, evident in its emphasis on player choice and a "fail-forward" design philosophy. This approach suggests that even setbacks contribute to the narrative's progression, offering a compelling and dynamic storytelling experience.

The Awakening in Montreal

Set two decades after the "Montreal by Night" expansion, the story introduces players to Gabe, a Kindred who awakens from a prolonged slumber with no memory of their sire. Players will customize their own Gabe, who then teams up with a Thin-blood named Sam to investigate a series of enigmatic occurrences in a grittier, darker rendition of Montreal.

Gameplay Focused on Investigation and Dialogue

"Eternal Whispers" eschews traditional combat in favor of a deeply dialogue-driven and investigative gameplay loop. Progress is determined by dice-based skill checks that influence conversations. These checks are tied to a character sheet featuring 15 upgradable skills spanning Social, Mental, and Physical categories. Inventory items and consumables can also impact these checks, ensuring that player decisions meaningfully shape the unfolding narrative.

Visual Style and Mission Structure

The game's visual presentation clearly nods to "Disco Elysium," featuring a similar top-down perspective and a distinct art style. Dialogue sequences are displayed on the right side of the screen, maintaining a familiar aesthetic. However, "Eternal Whispers" diverges in its structure, adopting a mission-based approach. Each investigation is designed to last between 90 minutes and two hours, with players returning to a central safe house hub between missions to manage a library that Gabe must maintain.

Anticipation for a New Vampire Experience

Having been in development since 2023, "Vampire: The Masquerade – Eternal Whispers" is eagerly awaited by fans. While an official release date has yet to be announced, the promise of a rich narrative, choice-driven gameplay, and a fresh perspective on the Vampire: The Masquerade lore has generated significant excitement within the CRPG community.
